Who we are and what we do.
The Victoria Grandmothers for Africa is one of over 240 Canadian groups working together to raise funds for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. This campaign supports African grandmothers who care for their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren.
We are proud to announce that with the combined efforts of our 275 km Cycle Tour, and our 50 km Cycle Ride in September this year, along with the our African Dinner in April, our National Stride Walk in June and the year-long efforts of our Sales and Crafts and Education working groups, we have accomplished our 2015 goal of raising one million dollars since our group was formed in 2006. This year, 2016, marks the tenth anniversary of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign. Plans are underway for special events and we look forward to continuing success with our fundraising efforts. We invite you to keep checking our site to see how you might support us and our cause.
In order to achieve our goals, we encourage members to join a working group that interests them. With a membership of close to 100, joining a smaller group enables members to get to know one another and make friends while engaging in the important work of the grandmother's campaign.
