Victoria Grandmothers for Africa is a group working together to raise funds and awareness for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and its Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. This campaign supports African grandmothers who care for their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren.
In 2013, Victoria Grandmothers for Africa raised $102,194.00 for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign and the Stephen Lewis Foundation. And since the group's inception in 2006, we have raised over $725,000.00.
Our work is accomplished through a variety of committees of interest. Members join a committee and engage in its work, meeting new people, learning new things and making friends.

Our next exciting fundraiser is the:
8th Annual VG4A Cycle Tour: September 5-7, 2014
30 strong and enthusiastic women/grandmothers 55 years and older will be cycling 275 kms from Campbell River to Victoria, B.C.. Their common goal - to raise funds for the Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. These grassroot projects support the sub-Saharan grandmothers raising their grandchildren who have been orphaned by AIDS. Clinics, hospices, daycares and education are just a few of the benefits of these projects.
In 2013, the cycle tour raised $85,000. Since the first ride in 2007, over $325,000 has been raised by these energetic B.C. grandmothers.
